Graphic Design for Social Change Zines
GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR SOCIAL ISSUES
Tasked with creating a set of three zines, I created the series Graphic Design for Social Change zines. There are three zines with one focusing on only using type, one focusing only only using imagery, and one combining the two and remixing them. In the zines I discuss graphic design and how I believe it is most powerful when used for social change. Graphic designers have so much talent that is used on medial things and they could be using it to create good and change in the world. I really wanted to focus on combining different techniques throughout the zines. For the text zine, I focused on using type in unique ways and finding ways to showcase typography by itself. The imagery zine is focused on different social issues through only imagery. In my third zine, I remixed my type from my essay and made some pages hard to read and remixed it with imagery from my second zine.
